How Can You Increase Your Engagement on Facebook?

So, you created a Facebook page, got some fans…now what?  There are some simple tactics you can use to keep up your engagement on Facebook.  By using calls to actions, you are able to create an incentive for fans to interact with you on Facebook.  First, tailor your status updates to ask your fans a question – whether it be their opinion, a call for stories, or even for advice.  The more comments a status update receives, the higher it will be placed in news feeds by Facebook’s EdgeRank algorithm.

Also make sure that your engaging content is actually relevant to your fans.  A company that is only posting advertisements for themselves won’t receive nearly as many likes or engagement as a company that is posting content relative to their industry and things their fans may need to know about the product (for example, a car company might post content about the latest safety results).

You should also encourage your fans to share your content by including a share button on all your tabs.  By allowing fans to share items like coupons, or to tell others about contests you are holding, you will be able to dramatically increase not only your engagement but also your Facebook fan base.

Another way to increase your Facebook engagement is by utilizing your cover photo properly.  This is located at the top of your Facebook page, and is the first thing people see when they go to your site.  You can use your cover photo to incentivize people to like your page, or to promote current events or promotions you are doing.  For example, you can make your cover photo a coupon for 10% their next purchase at your business.

No matter which tactics you try, it is important to remember to put the fans first – by asking yourself what they will like, you will be well on your way to a successful Facebook page.  If you need help with any of your online marketing strategy, including your Facebook page strategy, or even on creating the Facebook page itself, contact us online or call us at 407.682.2222 to see what we can do for you.

From Our Customers
Sales and Marketing Technologies have two main strengths. They have been tremendous in helping us improve our organic and paid search programs, driving more and more traffic to our Web site every year. Their other strength has been in design and programming of the site to perform in a way that enables conversion. A bonus for us is also their strength in understanding our particular industry based on their experience.”
