Are Facebook Ads Worth It?
Absolutely! Depending on your practice area, Facebook ads can be extremely useful in reaching potential customers. Facebook allows for advertisers to narrow down where their ads will appear within their targeted Internet community. In November of 2013, I met with a personal injury attorney who was interested in boosting his practice’s new clients for motorcycle accident related injury. In the past he had tried billboard and Yellow Page ads. However, he noted both the call volume and web traffic had sharply decreased from both of these marketing tactics in 2013.
After meeting and evaluating the best way to get his brand in front of the Internet community, we decided to move forward with a Facebook campaign. On Facebook, we were able to begin to segment down who his ad would be visible to. We chose a 25-mile radius from his office. Then we selected only people who fell between the ages of 25 – 50. Next, we selected anyone who had the following interests “motorcycles”, “motorcycle riding” and “Harley Davidson”. As a result, we had created a 3,250 person size segment for his advertisement to appear in front of. He was able to create a target segment for his ad based on the profile of the type of client base he wanted to attract.
Creating a Facebook ad is half targeting and half creative. Coming up with the right message to get in front of your highly targeted audience is just as important as finding the audience itself. An eye catching image and some engaging text copy is what with get that audience to click on your ad and in turn, possibly become your next client.
