According to a study from Ascend2, 50% of companies that are struggling with their Search Engine Optimization (SEO) are not properly integrating social media marketing into their Digital marketing strategies.
How can you help boost your social media and SEO integration?
Here are a few easy steps:
- Make tagging and bookmarking easy for your users
Include a social media bar to allow your users to share your site or articles on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and others easily. The easier it is to share a link, the more likely the users will be to do so.
- Encourage sharing
It is important to allow users to use your content (within reason). For example, YouTube sharing soared when the site created easy code for you to embed videos into your site. At a lower level, creating infographics and other information that is easy to share can help to spread content, as well as word about your brand.
- Be a resource
You may not receive direct business, but being a resource allows you to build credibility, and may lead to referrals in the future.
Make sure to respond to users’ comments and questions - it makes them feel valuable.
- Be real, and remain humble
It is important to remember where you came from - even if you become a blog, Twitter, or Instagram “star”, it is important to remember where the brand started and who helped build your brand along the way.
By keeping these things in mind, and actively integrating your social media into your main SEO practices, you will be well on your way to creating an overall successful strategy.
