How to Update Your Email Password

September 25, 2025
Here's a step-by-step guide:
  1. Head over to our webmail portal at https://mail.smtusa.com.
  2. Log in with your full email address and your current password.
  3. If this is your first time logging into webmail, a pop-up might appear asking for a Recovery Email Address. Add a secondary email here to make future password resets a breeze. You can skip this step by just clicking "OK" if you don't want to add a recovery email address or if you don't have another address. (Already a webmail user? No problem! You can set this up anytime by going to Settings > Recovery Email Address.)
  4. Once you're logged in, click Settings (it might be under the "More" option in the top menu).
  5. Select Change Password.
  6. Enter your old password and then create a brand new one.
Make sure it follows these new rules:
    • It must be at least 12 characters long.
    • It needs at least one number, one capital letter, one lowercase letter, and one symbol (like !, @, or #).
    • It can't be the same as your username.

  7. Click Save, and you're all set!
One more thing: Don't forget to update your new password on all your devices, like your phone and computer. You won't be able to send emails until you do. Here is our email settings page in case you need them for reference: https://www.smtusa.com/about-smt/e-mail-settings.html
